On July 19, 2024, the Eighth District Court of Appeals hosted the Mediation Forum for General Division Northern Ohio Court-Connected Mediators in the newly renovated Courtroom Number Three.  The Forums are intended to provide an opportunity for court-connected general division mediators to focus on issues unique to the mediation of general division cases.  

Over time, the Forums have included discussions of the importance and nuances of mediating civil appellate cases.  These Forums provide an opportunity for mediators to share skill sets and processes that will enhance both the mediators’ skills and the service to the Courts of Northern Ohio and beyond. 

At this Forum, in addition to the lively and thought-provoking discussions, the mediators were treated to a tour of the stately Old Courthouse, including the Eighth District’s  “Main Courtroom” and a tour of the Cleveland Law Library.  After the Forum, one mediator wrote: “[f]rom the discussions to the delicious lunch to the tour, it was a most excellent forum!” 

The next Forum will take place on November 1, 2024, in Akron, Ohio, and will be hosted by the Ninth Appellate District.
